I think the difference would be, and much like the OKC series last year, we'd gamble and go small- probably have Bron cover one of their bigs for stretches. Problem for them would be, Gasol would have to cover Bosh on the perimeter, drawing him away from the paint and giving Cole, Bron, and Wade lanes to the basket.

Memphis is going to make it tough but to say they are going to win in a hypothetical matchup is absurd.

The Heat have better shooters than OKC and LeBron isn't the guy he was 3 years ago floating around the perimeter. Bosh's ability to stretch the floor at the 5 and having LeBron at the 4 with Battier is going to spread the floor and Gasol can't roam in a zone like he is in this series.

However, Memphis is very good at squaring up and not leaving 3 point shooters open, they close out well, their rotations are probably the best in the NBA.

Where Scott Brooks failed last year, Lionel Hollins will do better IMO.

The Grizzlies problem is that their bench doesn't have enough shooting. Bayless is playing well in the role OJ Mayo had. Pondexter is hit or miss.. Dooling hasn't done anything, Arthur is coming on a bit though and has played good minutes of late but the cupboard is kind of bare there.

If they had another shooter at the wing and some better guard play aside from Conley.. it could be interesting but that stuff will probably do them in.

The team they had two years ago when Gay was hurt could have beat Dallas in the Western Conference Finals... the Mavs were happy when OKC won that Game 7.

But anyway, I'm just hoping OKC loses and we don't have to see a re-match of last years final. We know Miami is guaranteed to win it all but I'd like see them be challeneged a bit and win it in 6 or 7. I want to be entertained not snoozed out like the series last year where OKC teased everyone in Game 1 and then couldn't do anything the rest of the series.

I respect memphis, but people forget that not only are the Heat an Offensive juggernaut, they're also top 5 defensively. That just spells Champion.

Biggest factor in favor of the Heat is the refs.

Memphis looks great on paper, but can Tony Allen/ Z-Bo & Gasol avoid phantom foul calls?

Are they gonna get superstar treatment and get to the line as much as Bron and Wade?

I wouldnt put money on any of those games.

Spot on with the refs. But hypothetically speaking if they referred the series like they did the Clippers/Griz series, Chris Bosh/Birdman/Haslem/Battier would get baptized and I could see it going 7 games :manny:

Memphis aint beating the Heat in a series but they will give them a run for their moment. Unless one of the big three get injured the Heat will beat them in 6.

I mean the Grizz would of made it to the finals in the previous year if that was the case
:heh:

So Time, experience, and injury means nothing now?

The Grizzlies were banged up last year and those guys are more experienced now.

By you logic, why did the Thunder with Harden, Durant, Ibaka, Russ didnt make the Finals in the first few years?
