Once again, Michael B. Jordan is catching flack over his alleged dating preferences, but rumors that the actor doesn't date Black women "couldn't be further from the truth."

The issue of the actor's dating preference was brought up again after the Fahrenheit 451 star shared a music video for rapper Nick Grant's "Black Woman," which was met with some social media backlash.

Jordan told ESSENCE that he and his family "laughed" about the rumors. "It's so funny to everybody because it couldn't be further from the truth," he said. "My dad and my mom both said, 'If they only knew.' If they only knew. And that's the thing that keeps me not tripping about it, you know what I mean?"

The actor added that the rumors have made him reconsider making his personal life public. "It makes me hesitant about whoever I'm seen with. I'm finally starting to get to a place now where I don't care, but it bothered me for a minute. It made me more conscious of things I say and how I move, and what could happen if I leave a club or a restaurant or the movies. If I leave anywhere, any known place with anybody, there's going to be speculation."

Back in February, Jordan stopped by Ebro in the Morning, where he told the show's hosts, "I’m a universal person. I grew up all over the world. I had the opportunity to share my time and heart with many different races, wonderful people...I’ve been around the world, I love a lot of different people. I love my people. For anybody to question my love for Black women is preposterous."

Jordan even addressed the persistent rumors earlier this month, telling The Breakfast Club that he likes "women, period. All women. Everybody's on the table."

"Look at what I'm about as a person. Look at my upbringing, my culture, where I come from," the actor told ESSENCE. "How could I not love and appreciate my own race?"
