First the homie is rumored to be knocking out Cacs Mayweather style as Apollo Creed's grandson, then he personally took a meeting with J.J. Abrams about wielding the Force in a galaxy far far away, now he might be kicking E.T.'s ass in the ID4 sequel due out in 2015
Director Roland Emmerich is eyeing Fruitvale Station and Chronicle star Michael B. Jordan for a major role in 20th Century Fox's Independence Day 2, according toTheWrap.The site says the actor "has met with director Roland Emmerich and is highly regarded on the Fox lot." Jordan has not received an offer yet and official casting, they say, is not expected to happen until closer to the holidays.
The actor may play the Human Torch in Fox's Fantastic Four reboot as well.
While it is not certain whether Will Smith will return, Emmerich previously said that they had a meeting planned. Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are expected to reprise their roles, however.

i'm happy for dude. i had some discussions on here last year and posted an indepth article about the lack of young black actors getting opportunities to replace the aging Denzel's, Wesley's, Will Smith's, Fishburne's, Whitaker's, Morgan Freeman's etc..
It seemed the powers that be in hollywood had enough of that quality black excellence shyt at the turn of the century and turned to quick ticket rappers/entertainers (ludacris, dmx, ja rule, tyrese etc) in the early '00s instead of cultivating any up and coming 'actual' actors with potential. Then, in recent years it became either call up Anthony Mackie to play the black side kick or call up old ass Morgan Freeman/Samuel L Jackson to forever play the wise old guy who mentors/helps the main white characters.
So for Michael to be able to dodge the Anthony Mackie typecast (no offense to dude), and basically play his cards right to be on the safe side of backstage director politics (i know he got strong cosigns and support from guys like Forest Whitaker) to where he's now lookin at Human Torch, Apollo Creed Jr, and ID4 type roles...
If he can just snag one or more of those big budget things and have it be a blockbuster success, then ol boy would be set
