Yeah, "Poison" is an "old school" song. But as mentioned in the interview,
a song like that doesn't get much play because it's not as "old school" as a song
from an era older than that.

Also, BBD is considered an "old school" group because they had an "old school" hit,
and that's not something that is done with artists in other genres.

Bivins broke down the image of BBD being synthesized into Jodeci beautifully. I don't think anyone ever thinks of BBD before they do Jodeci.

But if you look at the timeline......... BBD was 1990 & Jodeci was 1991

Damn...you can't tell me that Devante Brain Trust didn't see that one ..... because everyone saw BBD as soon as Poison dropped.......Both were on MCA... Devante had the spy camera out during that time.

Old school definitely has a negative connotation to it. Way more than semantics. The term "old school" makes it seem like it's passe and sounds dated.

That's not true. There's always an "oldies" rock 'n roll station even if they don't call it "oldies" in the general public.
