The AIDS epidemic in the 90s lifted the veil of hypocrisy on a lot of "traditional African values" from the way children were raised, etc. Nowadays, African kids are just like their western counterparts in most things but material wealth/expectations.

Actually this is a great point.

He didn’t say anything about Black American culture; he’s talking about AMERICAN culture. I think the thing with American culture is how central entertainment is. If you aren’t strict your kids could be heavily influenced by it.

Also, in American culture, everything is designed to create seperation. Who’s spends more time with a child, the teachers/day care or the parents.

As a parent you can be against the idea of a male identifying as a female but your children will come home from school and argue with you because of your stance. So who has more influence, the teacher/day care or the parent.

In America there is so much violence and divisiveness that if you saw kids clearly acting up you simply mind your business and shake your head because things can get dangerous I don’t think most places overseas is like that.
