I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
'Basic Instinct' is a great fukkin movie. People remember it for the nudity and Michael Douglas being a piece of shyt but it's crafted very well. You have Paul Verhoeven in the director chair and he was so damn talented in that era. He had several classics :wow:
It’s crazy how Verhoeven’s streak just flatlined after Hollow Man. Feels like Hollywood never knew what to do with him once his satire got too real. Glad he still got to enjoy some international success, but it never hit the same after he dipped out of the studio system.

Wasn’t Richard Gere doing these type of films in the 80’s & 90’s as well?
Gere's most a$$hole role was Internal Affairs. Dude was fukking everyone. About as big as a scumbag there was.

That era had all those adult thriller/erotic flicks. But Douglas was the top dog.

he was definitely on major scumbag status in wall street too.

pretty much emotionally and monetarily conned his way into being a surrogate father to charlie sheen’s character just for some trading secrets then destroyed his life after he wasn’t useful to him any more. he was doing all this while cheating on his wife, who he set up with charlie’s character

Along those same lines it's wild that William Petersen didn't become a huge Hollywood star after 'To Live and Die in L.A.' which is another classic of that era. Talk about a fukkin scumbag, top tier DEA scumbaggery :mjlol:

These two were the go to for scumbag roles, although it seemed like Douglas had more of the rich, sophisticated type scumbag roles.

All you had to do is give him a suit and Zach morris phone and he’s ready to work

Spoilers ahead.

In 'Basic Instinct' he's so caught up in Catherine Trammell's p*ssy trap that he blows the entire case and gets his longtime partner murdered in the process and accidently kills his ex-lover because he mistook her for the killer :dead:

In 'Fatal Attraction' his wife is out of town for 5 minutes and he's fukkin some crazy bytch in an elevator, crazy bytch catches feelings, he damn near loses his entire family over it, his daughter gets kidnapped, his daughter's rabbit is killed in a pot of boiling water and his wife is frantic, ends up crashing her car and breaking her arm :dead: All over some strange p*ssy.....

They don't make movies like this anymore lol
