He was far removed from that one super bowl appearance that happened at a time when the nfl hadn't adjusted to stop college style spread option offenses (remember back then when the wildcat was a thing and Tim Tebow was winning games)

And let's be real, Kaepernick would've brought the exposure with him. I for sure would've watched him play to see if he got better and ESPN damn sure would've covered him (this would've been at the height of the jemele hill and mike Smith sports center era)
