It's hard to defend or feel sorry for RG3 considering how he has carried himself, and how dismissive he has been of the reality of his race. In many ways, RG3 was one of the most highly respected black QB in ages. He comes from a strict two parent home, he speaks properly, he seems intelligent, he wasn't a show boat initially, etc. It was obvious to me that this image was going to be torn down the minute something went wrong.
Instead of preparing for the season, RG3 allowed himself to become the story. He participated in media bullshyt, was held high above his teammates, and clearly was not focusing on his job as QB. I'm not going to ignore the fact that the coaching staff has been fukking with him, but at the end of the day it's up to RG3 to PREPARE. Russell Wilson is up at at the Seahawks facility at 6AM every day, studying film and throwing. Even if teammates are "jealous" of him or think he's a cornball brotha, they can't deny his heart or dedication. If RG3 was preparing as he should have, his teammates wouldn't be throwing him under the bus. They'd be revolting against Shanahan and his dumbass son.
He brought this on himself, I can't feel bad for him. Shanahan effectively castrated him as a leader in front of the whole team, and it's gonna be hard to come back from that. You can tell many of his teammates have his back and try to help him but clearly the locker room isn't all the way on his side. It'll be very interesting to see how he handles the next few weeks. Will he sulk on the bench, not talk to Cousins, not attend meetings, etc? If he does any of that, he's gonna lose that team for good.
