I know it's been brought up several times on the Coli, but it's crazy when you really think about how much power this dude really had. His mere presence had people crying and passing out, like something you'd see in an anime. We'll probably never see that again.

Dude had the bestselling album of ALL TIME. On top of that, MJ bought half of Sony's publishing and the Beatles catalog... that power move had a lot of people shook. I've been saying for the longest that the media is using Mike as a scapegoat for the actual predators () running the industry. Any black person who still believes the allegations against him is off-code.
Even in death, Mike's still breaking records and styling on his haters. MJ really is the GOAT.

I'll say it for the 1000th time

Mike in the 80s and early 90's was the closet thing to a living, breathing deity walking on earth, a black messiah in the making. The stuff civilizations write legends about and pass it down for a millennia.

There's fame and then there's what MJ had....

He regularly rubbed elbows with political leaders, royalty, hell I think he was even made an ambassador at some point.

If we're talking celebrities,

Only Michael Jackson and Muhammad Ali have known what its like to be in that rarefied air.

I want to say that Victory Tour era MJ was peak Michael, with the Bad Tour close behind.

His dancing was flames during the HIStory era though.

EDIT: Coli Brehs we need to stop sleeping on the Triumph album. It's lowkey in the same league as Off The Wall/Thriller but people rarely talk about it.

I got to actually go to the Victory Tour, I was 6 yrs old in 84. Saw on the 2nd night at Texas Stadium. Still have vivid memories from that concert. I also have the ticket stubs too.
