I was driving with my son during the Christmas season and Santa Coming to Town played on the radio.
My 6 year old son was like

I looked in the backseat and said
“The greatest child singer to ever live.”
He wanted that song played everyday for the rest of the Christmas season. That song came out when my mom was 6. It’s timeless music.
I went on to introduce him to the Jackson 5 and Thriller(I actually played it for him before but he was too young to remember)

That's the thing. If they're paying 800-900 million for it it's probably worth $1.6 billion or more.
And his estate has a perpetually lucrative asset and they want to give part ownership of it to some cacs for a quick pay out instead of collecting royalties from it indefinitely.
