Actually MJ had more than a 4 octave range according to his vocal coach. During vocal coaching MJ goes much lower than he does in his songs, and you know he can go high as hell, which he also only did during occasional live performance.

MJ and Prince had a larger range than most female singers.

What do you mean? I'm not being contrarian, the consensus is Mike didn't play instruments. Find a video of him playing an instrument. Prince played all his instruments, Michael couldn't. That's a known fact.

Michael would come into the studio with cassettes of him humming what he wanted the musicians to play. If he could play instruments, he would've just played them.

HIStory came out in the mid-90s, if you look at the credits of HIStory, there's over a hundred people credited. Everyone was credited on that album: Slash on guitar, Steven Spielberg on liner notes.

Then go look at 1977's "For You" under personnel it says "Prince – all vocals, all instruments"

For the mj fan, theres no benefit. Mike is almost always used as a measuring stick to see where your artist stack up(beyonce,chris brown,usher etc)
Or to dish out grievances (prince,the beatles,freddy mercury etc)

Theres nothing binding(other than both are black) between the two worlds to compare. David bowie is a better comparison to prince

Only artist I've ever seen bring together so many people from different cultures, races, religions etc together in mutual appreciation of his performances and music He did everything on a larger scale than anybody else before him and nobody has been able to match what he's accomplished since

That video is insane. Like I said in some other thread, MJ is the most known person in human history. He was otherwordly. You show this video to aliens in 200 years they'll think he was some God that came down to Earth lol. Some of the people in the vid are legit in shock.
