My educated guess is after Thriller dropped & Mike gained that worldwide fame, he slowed down on performing his r&b songs because the crowd wouldn't vibe too it

"Baby Be Mine" & "The Lady In My Life" never got a single release 2 songs that would've been #1 on the R&B/Black Charts but not Hot 100.

this long version of PYT got me about to stand up and bust some moves tho

So many great demo records came outta the 70s and 80s and this is no exception. You get a sense of the creative process. A lot of Michael Jackson’s demos are worth a listen, even the Dangerous era demos that really got a shot in the arm when Teddy rolled up.
