Nah. His fam revealed that he went behind Mike’s back to get the Prince collab. And since Mike looked up to Quincy he accepted it. Then found out Quincy tried to give Prince top billing on his OWN song. So Mike was pissed about it and the collab didnt happen. Then to make matters worse Prince did an interview making fun of the lyrics in the song basically implying the lyrics was gay. Mike went ballistic and vowed not to fukk with Quincy no more after that. And this was already after he was pissed at Quincy for not giving him his rightful credit for Billie Jean and then Quincy accepting a grammy for Thriller even tho MJ did all the work.

Donna Summers did not write State of Independence! Jon Anderson and Vangelis did. She was just doing a cover of it. Quincy knew that. So he has dementia really bad, or he is lying intentionally. MJ's demo of Billie Jean was recorded in 81 a year before Donna covered Jon Anderson's song. You can't steal a song or Riff from someone that did not write It! Quincy said MJ took a RIFF not the song. MJ's Billie Jean RIFF is different notes in a different key and different emphasis on the notes than State Of Independece. Artist are inspired by others all the time.

It shows that Michael produced a HOME DEMO of BILLIE JEAN and took it to QUINCY JONES to include it [BILLIE JEAN] on the THRILLER ALBUM. QUINCY REJECTED IT so MICHAEL went to the HEAD OF A&R at CBS, Mr. LARKIN ARNOLD, and CRIED until LARKIN agreed to put the song on the THRILLER ALBUM.

LARKIN then suspended production of the album to allow BILLIE JEAN to be completed.

Both Michael and Quincy were Producers on the Thriller album. Sounds like SOUR GRAPES because Michael went over Quincy’s head to his boss and told on him AND MICHAEL GOT HIS WAY!

And as we know, not only was BILLIE JEAN on the album, in late 1982, it was chosen to launch the entire THRILLER CAMPAIGN and that was BECAUSE OF MICHAEL.

without donna summer, the song blows.. so she deserves credit enough where people know anything about the song. secondly, the the demo that mike produced needed a lot of work= this is where quincy comes in and cleans up the song. mike went over q head to get larkin arnold to put billie jean on the album was not the issue, the issue was mike did not want to spend time in the studio and polish up the song so it can sound better. the song your talking about had a bad mix, so of course q was going to reject it.
