If you look on various comment sections on the internet, you have a bunch of white people (and some Latinos) who feel MJ should be banned just like Sterling was. They even bring up "Paula Deen doing the same thing 30 years ago, and having everything taken from her."
Brotha is selling shoes and clothes- no different than any other brand. He aint one of the many slimey/c00n preachers or politicians. He aint one of the many drug dealers that truly hurt our community...
Should he design his joints uglier so that people wont buy them? Would that make you feel better?

The two situations aren't comparable. I wouldn't even call the young MJ"s reaction "racism" (I don't even think it's really true, first of all
). But assuming MJ did feel some type of way, he was being racially accosted, denigrated and degraded in a racially hostile 70s and 80s North Carolina. In other words, rednecks were putting their boot on his neck for a long time. Meanwhile Paula Deen was the one adjusting the boot's pressure. She could have been the girl who called MJ the N word. The situations aren't the same.

In all seriousness tho, "in a perfect world"(which doesnt exist), what he's saying he did should be what older whites do as well. But instead, many of them hold onto to their 'cism and/or excuse it as "culture" or something else, instead of dealing w/ themselves to become a better person.
Jordan grew up amongst racism/hatred from the KKK, and assuming he's telling the truth, no longer harbors hateful feelings towards whites. (Although I'm sure deep down they're still somewhere in there somewhere) Sure a big part of that is a result of his celebrity status and well-doing financially, but even still ppl like Donald Sterling and many other rich whites have not changed, and won't.
