In the late '80s, Jordan looked in Whitfield's closet and saw that half of it was filled with Nike and the other half filled with Puma. Jordan bundled the Puma gear in his arms, tossing it onto the living room floor. He took a knife from the kitchen and cut it to shreds. Call Howard White, his contact at Nike, he told Fred, and tell him to replace it all. Same thing happened with George. He bought a pair of New Balance shoes he loved, and Jordan saw them one day and insisted he hand them over. Call Howard White at Nike.

I wonder if he could get back in shape and play just one more season...

I mean, he was in great shape. Minimal injuries.

Meanwhile, Grant Hill out here :flabbynsick:

This article shows why, while the life of a professional athlete can be heaven, it can also be Hell in the sense that, the life-span of your career is so short.

How do you tell Michelangelo he can't paint anymore at the age of 35, 36?

and yet da vinci was polymath creating works of art and science to his death. its sad to see jordan reduced to wasting his brain on crossword puzzles and gambling

:to: that's my GOAT.

It's crazy how a person can be so dedicated to their craft. Meanwhile most of us just try to get by and make a little bit of money to make our life a little bit more comfortable.

I envy guys like MJ who put it all on the line and have the talent to do it. The emptiness he feels without the sport is the price he pays for greatness.

:wow:

Nah I mean I agree that he's no gm at all.

Exactly this applies to a lot of different things in life. The best sales guy won't be the best manager, the best rapper won't be the best rap mogul, the best ball player won't be the best manager... It takes a completely different skill set.

The biggest thing I got outta that article is that Jordan might not be suited to be in the owner's seat neither. If you're running a team you need to be able to put smart people in positions and they gotta be able to disagree with you. Jordan surrounds himself with folks that acquiesce to his every whim. Every decision is a competition to the man and he won't lose. This dude leaves people in random cities for not being on his time. What happens to the GM when he disagrees about a pick? The head coach pick seems like some shyt MJ would do to prove a point to someone. The head coach is a career college assistant who's last head coach job was at a place called Metro State....I'm not making that shyt up. Look it up. Metro State.

The only two people he seems to listen to are his fiancee and George Koehler, too bad for the Bobcats ain't neither one of them involved in basketball decisions.

Jordan is a Tommy Shephard ass nikka. This nikka be in the court by himself, in his big mansion reliving his glory years. I bet he replays "the shot" against Utah & jumps up & down.

For Jordan, basketball is life. With the exception of white women, he doesn't seem to enjoy anything else. I could only wish I was that passionate about something.

It was disturbing reading how has so many flunkies in key positions in the organization. That doesn't bode well for the future of the team. Jordan has become like a third world dictator.
