To be real, somebody can make the exact same argument for Shaquille. It would just be on argument more on the "I'll take Shaq at his best over anyone else's best" as opposed to the standard overall career argument.

I still couldn't take Shaq at his absolute best over Hakeem "The Goat" Olajuwon.

The low post footwork, the mid range jumper, the jumping/dunking ability, the passing ability, the man to man low post defense, the rebounding skills, ability to get steals, the perfect timing on blocks:ohlawd:

The Dream was the best all-around Center I've ever seen:lawd:

I can see and respect the argument, but if I had to start a team with any players since the 70s, Hakeem would probably end up seven or so for me.

My first pick would be that 2001 era Shaq. I'd probably take Jordan, LeBron, Magic, Kareem, and maybe Bird/Duncan at their best before Olajuwon as well. But someone telling me they'd take Hakeem first, I definitely can't say you're wrong for that.

There isn't any big man that has played since the 1970s that I would take over Prime Hakeem and there isnt any perimeter player that I would take over Prime Kobe.

Matter of fact, my All-Modern Era Team would look like this:

At their very best:

C: Hakeem Olajuwon
PF: Tim Duncan
SF: LeBron James
SG: Kobe Bryant
PG: Magic Johnson

Please tell me I didn't go 5 pages of nikkas talkin about athletic freaks in the NBA and saw no mention of Shawn Kemp:mindblown:....dude had all the tools in the world and just lacked the work ethic and liked his alchohol and coke:why:...y'all talkin about if Shaq took basketball serious,if Kemp took this shyt more serious:ohlawd:

Shaq wuz definitly a monster:bow:....any giant is a freak of nature really aren't they,if u gon say Kareem and Olajuwan wuz freaks shoutout to Pau Gasol:salute: u gotta put him up there

Not many big man can do that, don't know if moving like that puts u in the genetic freak category tho which is what I'm debating....its hard with big men cuz at 7ft they all freaks reallyi don't know if just all agile big men can be held in that same category as shaq....Kareem and Hakeem wuz just supertalented at what they did and yes freaks by height.

Shaq had that weight with him thoughand wuz agile which I think puts him and Wilt above them slightly,it wuz a little more freakiness athletically that helped a lot of shaqs scoring, not that they wuznt talented, shaq used his genetics over skill plenty to just wreck nikkas.....id put cats like a Kemp in the category, definitly Lebron,Iverson,Odom,Nowitski in the discussion,Durant and Melo too....just cats who genetically had sumthin about them that made them impossible sumtimes, and its often genetics over skill that got them buckets....matter fact id take durant out of the discussion,I guess Odom too,he fits the bill but didn't dominate like id think sumbody with his genetic freakiness and gifts sould have.

WHEN HE HAD GOOD TEAMS HE STILL DIDNT HAVE MANY OFFENSIVE OPTIONS..
PIP AND A BUNCH OF SPOT UP SHOOTERS,
THEN KUKOC.

MIKE WOULD HAVE AVERAGED NEAR 30 ON 18 SHOTS PLAYING WITH SHAQ LIKE BRON WITH WADE....
YOU FORGET KOBE GOT TO PLAY ONE ON ONE BALL CUZ OF SHAQS DOUBLE TEAM...
IMAGINE A PRIME MIKE THAT NEVER SAW DOUBLES.
EFFICIENCY WOULD BE OFF THE CHARTS.

yep. and his efficieny was STILL off the damn charts :cacpls:

I don't give a shyt about people's arguments. I'm simply going off what I saw. Shaq was the most dominant big man I ever saw. Nothing in Kareem's game makes me think he's one iota better than Shaq. I don't care what stats or MVPs you cite. I'm going by what I saw not some numbers.

I feel what you are saying because you probably didnt get to see Kareem play. I only caught the tale end of his career myself. But theres no way Shaq is better and i watched his whole career. If they played Shaq would have got his, Kareem would have gave him the business with his array of post moves and the skyhook. Kareem was still out there as an old man battling against the Hakeems and Ewings of the world. And came out on top more often than not.
