Kareem won 5 out his 6 rings in the '80s. He won his rings against all-time great teams like the Celtics, Sixers, and Pistons. That's better than Jordan's watered down rings against teams like the Jazz, Suns, Sonics, and Blazers.

The Modern NBA started in 1980 not 1989.

WTF makes 1989 the start of the modern NBA? :dahell: The modern era started when Magic and Bird came into the league.

The league started to trend downward in the mid '90s and '99-'05 were literally the worst the league has been in the modern era. Horrible fundamentals, ineffectient shooting, too much one-on-one.

Kobe's peak years came when the NBA was at its worst and he still was never the best player in the league :mjlol:

That's called real basketball crakkka.

Go back to watching hockey white boy. Basketball ain't for your kind.

Honestly, I don't understand so much delusion. When Kobe doesnt win it's because of pau gasol. When lebron doesn't win it's how could you not with Wade and bosh. However Wade was falling out of prime immediately after 2011. The 2014 finals the heat was lebron (all the injuries to Wade and bosh). Also when y'all mention kobe "giving up" in against the suns it's to prove a point, but when lebron loses regardless of the performance of his other teammates it's his fault (of course Kobe dodges this with y'all. The point is the game is wayyyy to situational with the way history works and injuries that have changed outcomes (2015 finals probably a recent one). All I'm trying to say is in the right situation probably anyone in the top 10-15 could be the goat (with accomplishments) and Micheal just got the perfect storm (expansion, bird/magic the teams and the players breaking down, that one video in the thread acknowledging that he is being surrounded by the BEST from the expansion.). (IE: if lebron some how got to the spurs early in his career) (or how Durant and the warriors potentially made the most stacked team ever, which would hurt lebrons legacy obviously). To me the best way to gauge who is the best is impact on the floor for the game and the entire team. If this was solo tennis maybe I could believe in the rings more.

When was Kobe ever the undisputed best player in the league?

From 99-04 he wasn't even the best player on his own team.

'05 he missed the playoffs.

'06-'07 were the only years where you could argue he was the best, but even then he was leading sub 40 win teams and getting bounced in the first round. So you could argue Duncan was better.

His one and only MVP was in 2008 and that was a courtesy lifetime achievement award that should've gone to Chris Paul.

From '09 til now it's Lebron undisputed.

He's never led the league in PER. Never shot 47% for a season. His calling card is that he's supposed to be some great scorer yet he only has 2 scoring titles. :dead:

I'm not particularly a kobe fan per say. But I'll say it's between 2005-2006 or 2006-2007 in the 05-06 season outscored the Mavs for a whole quarter with 62 then 81. I know some people will say the Raptors defense was hot ass, but kobe had to score 81 for them to even win that game. That's how bad the lakers were during the dark ages. The Raptors led most of that game. He accounted for 66% of that teams points and he scored 45 points in 4 consecutive games. 27 40 point games and the most points in a season by a laker. That's still the greatest scoring season since in recent memory.

The next season he had 10 total 50 point games and 4 of them consecutively that season. He singlehandlingly brought those lakers to the playoffs with his scoring performances cause those rosters had kwame brown, Slava Medvedenko smush Parker. We give Lebron credit for carrying trash teams to the playoffs in a much easier east, but kobe carried a not so good team to the playoffs in a tougher west. Wade got kicked out of the first round a couple times too but that was still some of the best basketball he played in those years.

Well getting the best players from the expansion. As well as someone who was consisdered a TOP player (Scottie besides you for his prime is great) (it's like if bron had 05-11 Wade instead of 11-14.) Basically the team was good to the role players on it. Not many had that.

True or False, Lebron has lost in the finals while also playing on the better team.

Jordan is using the ring argument because that's the only thing that keeps him as the "goat"

It's cool cause more and more people are starting to see past that and realize how weak 90's basketball was and they know his competition in the finals was lackluster.

3 finals mvps > 2 finals mvps

Yes only the rings keeps Mj as GOAT of course, it's not like his:

5 MVPs

10 All NBA First Team selections in 15 seasons (including his Wizards tenure)

DPOY Award

9x defensive first team selections

Rookie of the year award

10 scoring titles (most in history, 5x the amount Kobe has and 10x the amount Bron has)

3x steals leader

NCAA championship

2x gold medals

Highest career regular season scoring average of anyone to ever play league basketball

Highest career postseason scoring average of anyone to ever play league basketball

Have anything to do with it, all Jordan has are his rings propping up his fraudulent case for GOAT right?? :troll::mjlol:

Oh I almost forgot the most important accolade, by your personal standards:
6 finals MVPS > 3,2,1,0: The amounts everyone below him have managed to achieve; none of these bums have even managed more than HALF of Jordan's amount

I sincerely hope posts like this are sarcastic/trolling, but there's so many deluded Bron stans and contrarians than actually think him and Kareem have had better careers and are better players than him that I doubt it sadly. Jordan is the GOAT and is isn't even close kiddo; the gap between Kobe and Bron is a hair's width compared to the gap between either of these guys and MJ, full fukkin stop. End these meaningless arguments.
