Guys were only guarding out to about 18 feet when Jordan came in the league, the paint was packed, and teams would shovel the ball into the post players. Players didn’t have to cover anywhere near the same amount of space on defense. Guys who were 6’8 were power forwards, now those guys are point guards who are moving exponentially more.
I watch the games and don’t see any defensive player other than a few that’s out there doing anything exceptional to prevent the barrage of 3’s being shot. You are caught up in the theory of today’s game. The NBA is a lick for dudes these days. Fukk being the best and dominating, the real W is to get to the bag as long as possible.

48 minutes in today's NBA is not the same as it was back when Jordan played. So talking about load management without that context in mind is disingenuous to me.
Why do fans and former players think they know better than the people who are actually playing these games :mindblown: and a lot of these decisions are made by the teams and not the players themselves

Then will get on the sports shows and say "you should've sat him" when injuries become worse. You can't have it both ways

It’s simple, former players went all out to please the paying fans juxtapose to new NBA where pleasing the paying fans is last on the agenda behind TV partners, Streaming partners, Advertisers, sponsors, getting the bag, player brands, social media, load management.

The paying fans and competitive spirit gets put on the back burner and the excuse is preventing injury

Should we discuss it's exactly why LeBron loudly proclaimed last year his goal was to do the same then threw that plan in the bushes within a month :dead:
The thing with LeBron is he is always conscious of the things that Mike and Bean did to uplift the game but his mentality is to always find away to cut corners and avoid the grind.
