I don’t believe for a second that Michael Jordan gave a shyt about playing 82 games for the fans. It sounds good. I just don’t believe it.

I believe he played all those games because he was a fierce competitor and because in his era, players just didn’t take games off. And it probably didn’t occur to coaches to sit players anyway, barring injury of course.

Also, and I don’t understand why today’s fan refuses to acknowledge this, the modern NBA player covers more miles per season than ever before. The demands are simply greater. That’s not an opinion. That’s a statistical fact.
It's the same size court and they still play 12 mins a quarter... Hope everyone negged the fukk outta this posf

The fuuck…:what:

They owe you to show up and to their job. Which is to play a game for 2.5 hours out the day…

Certain teams only play once a year, especially if they are on different sides of the country. And people buy their tickets way in advance.
LOL
You don't take days off at your job? You don't need time to recover or rest your mind/body?

Tell me how that's different.

They are playing basketball…

NBA games are 2.5 hours

If you’re not seriously injured or ill..

You need to do your job. Period.

Especially when you’re getting paid MILLIONS OF dollars to entertain the public.

They’re paid to help teams win. Sometimes that requires rest.

And most of the time the rest is dictated by management.

On one hand I can't help but blame load management on how NBA media trivializes the season. When all that matters is rings, making it to the playoffs as healthy/rested as possible becomes the main priority.

On the other hand there's something incredibly disrespectful about load management. People pay top dollar to go to games - even with meh/bad seats - only to learn a star isn't playing. You can't tell me this isn't contributing to the decline in popularity for the league.

Fans don't want to get price gouged over regular season tickets, so they try to get their shyt early so they can at least get good seats.

Imho, if you go to a basketball game and you not lower bowl/arena, may as well just go back home on some real shyt.

NBA is the worst offender, and you can clearly hear crowds becoming worse as the years go by because real fans sitting at home. NFL starting to trend that way too.

All MLB has to do is keep seats from skyrocketing and they could go on a huge run again.

So y not just take a day off at practice instead of load managing in actual games.

The point is that every job requires rest.
$50,000 a year or 50 million a year.

Apparently you’re too dense to understand this basic reality.

I mean I can’t help you.
