I can't confirm or denial anything about ADL, but they do mention the Black armband and the reason why.
My man, did you read this article you posted?

A recent "news item" posted on several Web sites and circulated via e-mail alleges that basketball legend Michael Jordan was recently criticized by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and others for wearing a black armband to show solidarity with the Palestinians. The report reads as if it were a news story, yet has no validity or truth whatsoever. The quotes attributed to an ADL spokesperson are fabricated.

One version of the e-mail, which has been posted on a Muslim listserve, was altered to give it the appearance of having been distributed from The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), a national civil rights organization. This is simply not true. On its Web site, the ADC indicates that their organization has recently been the target of malicious e-mail attacks, where hackers posing as legitimate ADC e-mail users have sent out thousands of forged messages.

This is a new avenue for him. His words ain’t perfect, but shyt, he’s trying.

I actually think it was pretty eloquent :ehh:

Yeah the POC shyt was lame but a lot of the same Black revolutionaries we revere from the past actually believed in unity amongst people of color. It's just taken us this long to realize that that framework is bullshyt.and that's a minority of us. I'd wager a large proportion of our population still believe in the poc nonsense :manny:

But weren't afraid to say Black when it came to spearheading what brought them together in the first place.

Better late than never. Jordan should have been speaking out on this kinda stuff years ago.

A lot of criticisms about him in regards to that is highly warranted.

This is a definitely a step in the right direction for him though.

Dumbass, I am of the age where I actually saw and heard Michael Jordan say this. Since there is no footage, I took a transcript. The same is also published in books.

I guess you are somewhat like 12 years old.

"Since famous star basketball player Michael Jordan now wears a black armband to show support for the Palestinian struggle for freedom, as well as other causes like the fight against globalization,…"

I vaguely remember this.
The widow of Daniel Peal (the Jewish journalist that was beheaded on camera by Jihadists around 2002) even called him out because he refused to openly express support for something she was promoting in relation to her husband's memory (I think it was related to some Israel lobby). I remember reading about this stuff during that very period
Now I never read that part about him wearing an armband for the Palestinian cause. That's a new one...

MJ still the most popular person in the world I think. If there's anyone who could make change, it's him.

I remember some journalist asking him why he had a "black armband" and that is how the uproar started.
