It's a powerful quote. True happiness is having something to look forward to. And that's where having things like hope and purpose helps drive people because they always looking ahead to actualising things.
This and having positive energy as you go along.. yeah things aren't always the best but it's better to be optimistic and wrong because pessimism and trauma and all that is a disease that eats away at you.
