Just got done watching. Birdman literally shyts on every other movie that came out this year. :scust:

imma say this, and a lot of ya'll may not like it. But if you didn't like this movie then you don't like cinema, straight up:yeshrug:

Really no need to over analyze it's meaning. It was about a MAN(Keaton) and his battles: Daughter, Wife, Side joint, Agent, other actors, pass success, pressure etc

How can you not like this movie? :what:

Master level Camera work, master level acting, what's not to like?

Everything else and some of the stuff you mentioned. The way the story is told, the smug self-awareness which overshadows every dramatic moment, hell, even the 'master level camera work' works against the movie more often than it works with it. Just because a tracking shot is incredibly difficult to pull off and indicative of great skill, it does not mean that it's always the right choice to shoot a scene with.

And outside of Keaton the acting wasn't that good. This is literally every performance Emma Stone has ever done, except she happens to do it in a 'prestige movie' this time and lost some weight for it. Norton and Watts (the latter one of my absolute favorites) are too self-conscious about their roles to make them work within the dramatic narrative that Innaritu loves to throw aside way too much so he can be more in-jokey. Oh, here's a hallway with the carpet from the Outlook hotel from The Shining, aren't we being clever for. no. fukking. reason. at. all!

Norton killed it

The self aware smugness was on purpose to show how fickle and dumb fans are. Now look at the awards

:lawd: Exactly breh. This movie was terrible. People still can't explain the telekinesis. I guess we can put random shyt in a movie with no explanation.

Keep it 100 brehs, if this movie was made with some other actor besides Micheal Keaton would it still be as "intriguing"? I say this because of his back story. Leaving the Batman franchise and just doing bit parts. There is obviously some meta shyt going on.

This movie is beyond forgettable.
