And he’s an idiot. The Nuggets gave this dumb ass a max contract
When Jamal Murray is out and he’s the second option he averaged 25ppg 6 rpg on 56/49/92 shooting splits. You just can’t let that go despite the anti vax and crazy injuries he suffers. Is he really worth 207million breh. Like he's that integral to the thuggets future?
See this is the problem.. The NBA is a league based on “potential” and “what ifs”
I’m not a basketball scout but just watching him play I don’t see him being anymore then what he is right now. I don’t think he can carry a team. Last year he averaged 19 ppg. It will probably go up a tick but I don’t like his shot selection at all…
He’s not gonna be anymore then what he is right now
Exactly some bad team would love to max him and have him be their best player. If denver is willing to spend the money to max him as their 3rd best player, that’s a good thing.Seems like the prototypical wing that Orlando would have maxed to remain perennial 8-10th seed
Did you feel that way about KD a few years in?See this is the problem.. The NBA is a league based on “potential” and “what ifs”

For what it’s worth, he scored more and more efficiently when he was playing with bench lineups and jok/Murray were on the bench.I agree that Denver either had to trade him or resign him.
That being said, he's so efficient because he's not that guy. And he has a top 5 option of that guy on his team who runs the offense.
I guess it also helps when you're not even the 2nd, and some nights the 3rd, option out there
This feels like Tobias Harris situation. Offensive piece they couldn't just let walk.
As I specifically said in my post, the reason for his free throw percentage only being at 79 is volume disparity. You can be a great free throw shooter, but if you're not capable of getting to the line and/or you don't get regular free throw attempts, the volume isn't going to be reflective of your free-throw shooting ability.Henceforth why i said 50/40/90 potential. 79 percent is a big step away from 90 percent though bruh.
Grand openingJust for reference:
MPJ is 23 years old. When KD was 23 he led his team to the NBA Finals.

Or he could shoot a higher volume and become worse too as most people do as they shoot moreAs I specifically said in my post, the reason for his free throw percentage only being at 79 is volume disparity. Let me break it down for you:
Last season he made 106-134 from the free-throw line (attempting 2.2 per game), which equates to 79%.
Now, he would only have to make 14 more three throws across the season (which would only be an increase of .2 per game), which would take him to 89%.
In that context, making 14 more throws with the same amount of attempts isn't exactly a "big step away" now is it? Essentially, your entire argument on him reaching this 50/40/90 potential is entirely reliant on making .2 of FT more per game. Basically, what I'm trying to tell you is, he's already playing at that potential.
