No they both sucked and honestly it seemed like they were trying too hard to put a "black perspective" on things...Which turned me off to them and in my eyes was backhanded c00ning..

They werent authentic to me..and their commentary wasnt engaging...

Jamele would say a random-boarderline off topic response to a sports story then Mike would spend like 3 minutes trying to understand her stated point...Once he understood then he would say "ohhhhhh..." and start mumbling a weak response...

Cringe...
SC6 wasn't good, I give you that. I knew it wouldn't be, you can't be H&H in 6pm sports center. But their old show and pod before the 6 was good, even if I didn't agree with all their points or feel they went one corny joke too far.

I was happy they got SC6, but I knew this was gonna happen when they said they were gonna keep it like His & Hers. The problem with that timeslot is twofold: by then people like me who have the tv on sports news most of the day are tired of hearing the same stories and takes over and over. Then you have the crowd who comes home and wants to watch sports news and sees them on TV. It isn't going to sit well with them, espcially when it's the topics and opinions Jemele primarily likes to voice:mjpls:

Numbers Never Lie and H&H were in a better timeslot for this type of show, and while they were somewhat news shows, you were watching more for entertainment and opinions specifically, where SC is more news and less opinions. ESPN supposedly moved them to be able to have opinion based sports news, and the audience didn't like opinions in their sports all of a sudden. Yet SVP SportsCenter does ok:mjpls:

:mjpls: I see what's going on here

And yeah, I agree about Mike. I think he is fed up now. Mike used to play it a bit safer than Jemele, but he really doesn't like the mew format and working with his friend was what made his shows good and fun to do in his eyes. He probably doesn't want to get fired, but he probably does want off the show. Maybe he wants to go back to Around the Horn's rotation.

Bomani is okay to me. I find his willingness to piss cacs off without saying too much rather hilarious honestly. I think they may be rethinking giving him and Pablo that show.

U are my dawg and u know I fukks wit u fam, but this post is bullshyt my nikka. Not a single thing about them was "forced" AT ALL my nikka. If the natural communication between 2 people from the hood felt that way, I gotta question you my nikka :yeshrug:. Their shyt was natural as fukk imo.

I really do not, for the life of me, understand why ESPN is having this horrible-sounding cornball be the lead host on a morning show.

They’re talking about having him, Beadle, Jalen Rose and Damien Woody be on this ESPN morning show in April....wtf?

Dude had a radio show on tv for 18 years and nobody gave a fukk then...why would they now? Oh because he’s a safe, corp shill, bland as fukk all-american man who will do whatever the execs need...especially cuz he also wants to make sure he justifies that crazy ass $6.5MM a year contract he got. :heh:
Agree with everything you said except the "nobody gave a fukk" part, he doesn't appeal to us but just like unseasoned food he appeals to Middle America whites. I would have that shyt on the TV as background noise while getting ready for work and whenever they went on the road they would have the place filled with Andy Reid/Roseanne Barr looking mugfukkers. Mike & Mike had alot of sway with them.

When you do everything for money god walks out of the room..

Meaning they could have stayed at his and hers and negotiated more loot but they got gassed and hustled at the prospect of a nationally televised show with more money once they accepted that it was a wrap

That’s the same shyt they did to SAS the first time around until he thought he was the main act and could say anything he wanted.. Espn blackballed SAS real good, had his dumb ass on Hannity talkin shyt about Obama for a check

I don’t think he cares. He sees the writing on the wall, and I imagine he doesn’t give a fukk about hosting a 6p SportsCenter by himself...especially since he obviously doesn’t fukk with the new boss.

And I imagine the new boss doesn’t give a fukk about him either. That dude Norby has been talked about as one of those corporate shills who has somehow managed to still be at the company 25+ years later. He’s a yes-man pawn that does the dirty work while the real decision-makers remain anonymous.
He's got a family to feed though

Yep, it's happened time and time again. You see the real creativity and freedom in shows or even in music when they fly under the radar. All of a sudden they start to get some momentum and the corporate heads try to take advantage of the momentum. Now that more eyes are on it they get too many cooks in the kitchen trying to change the product and conform it to what they think it should be instead of leaving it alone until eventually what made the product great is gone.
co sign; and you just described every episode of The Profit that comes on CNBC.Basically a rich white dude comes in and invests in a small business that is in debt, then brings all these other people in and changes the essence of the company, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Shyt wasn’t that good to begin with honestly. Same topics covered as all other shows, except it was a breh and brehette hosting.
Plus all these sports and news personalities go through shyt like this. From Good Morning America, CNN, on down. TV life is crazy period.:yeshrug:

I think both Mike and Jamele respects the positions ESPN helped put them in, but im 100% sure neither of them gives a fukk about possible consequences if they really go in on some shyt verbally. Jamele and Mike NEVER held their tongue about anything and as y'all see (mostly bytch ass women hating ass fakkit nikkas on here) neither have hels their tongue on MAJOR shyt.

If y'all nikkas can't rock with and respec their grind, fukk y'all, real talk. Thet have been BY FAR the best black sports reporters for 5+ years now, I wish both hella luck cause they may need that shyt in the near future.
Yeah bruh, but shyt is a cautionary tale as well, Mike knew how to critique a situation without being explicit. If the object and end goal was to secure the bag, they both should've known it was coming with strings attached.

Also don't get how people hate on Pablo, lot of insecurity there :mjpls:

Pablo cool as fukk, likes to joke/can take a joke, can be nerdy in a funny way and knows how to balance being insightful with just shooting the shyt. Breh is no where near insufferable, to compare him to Bomani is an insult.
He's best when he's being made fun of because of his nerdy vibe. LeBatard stays on him, and keeps him humble because Dan knows his audience doesn't really give a fukk about Pablo's Mensa membership. I remember Bomani and Pablo going on different shows together to do some pre promotion, and you could tell they weren't gelling because they were both trying to over-intellectualize sports. I honestly don't think their show is going to work because their dynamic too similar. They really don't balance each other out, they're going to nuance the fukk out of every topic. Bomani's podcast is cool because he takes viewers questions and talks about them with less filters.

I knew it wouldnt last especially after Trump targeted Jemele. Show was a bit too ethnic for espn's primetime. You can get away with alot midday. But no bueno when those cacs in the red states and some in the purple states come home from work wanting sports highlights and they hear cultural references they dont understand. It infuriates them.

Espn misfired giving them that prime time slot.

Oh yea, fasho bro. At this point though, neither gives a fukk. Them getting the 6 slot was based on them being g able to do it how they wanted, once bosses stepped in I think they both said "fukk this shyt"

They gave them that spot and no chance to succeed so they would fail and espn wouldn't become ETHNIC sports and programming network. Cacs hate that they were the most popular entity on the network. Now they can say at least we tried
