I wouldn’t characterize him as Michelle Obama did in calling him what she called him.

I have people who worked for Rev Wright. The idea that the pew from which the Obamas sat at for over a decade was suddenly “clout chasing” in a speech for calling out America’s character was him being in character in speaking about America’s injustices towards Black people. Not familiar with what she said so I won't get in the middle of your beef with her as I also didn't care for the way that they handled the Jeremiah Wright situation but Jeremiah is not, nor has ever been "working class". He grew up solidly "bourgeoisie" and he built his Chicago church to embody bourgeois values and ideas in every sense of the word. People get confused because he's militant. No, he just comes from the militant faction of the bourgeoisie. But working class, he was not.
Also, although I didn't like the way the Obama's divested of Wright, Wright's hands are not innocent either. He was out there clout chasing and should've had the awareness to sit down and keep his mouth shut.

. She never said this when she was first lady. Now they see a trend, especially after that black voters were a low point in the midterms, the pandering starts. #tangibles are the only solution not sweet talk.
@ people who thought Tariq Nasheed, Jason Black, and Prof Black Truth weren't having an impact nationally when it came to the no tangibles/no vote messageBlack men in this country are finished, too busy regurgitating white nationalists conspiracy theories thinking its “free thought.”Dems getting this desperate. Thats bullshyt you posting. I can post sermons prior to the speech that was right wing slanted to malign him.
Gatdayum shame you would take a sliver of that speech and buy into some fox news slant.
Only a clown will think this is clout chasing. As if there’s “clout” or benefits for calling these racists racist.![]()

Show me the guilt on his part. What are you hiding? They sat there for years and never had a problem only finding one when Obama sought the presidency. Show me the wrong in Reverend right. I’m all ears.I'm not talking about this sermon. This was only a small part of the situation. But obviously you're not aware of the whole situation. I said I didn't like how the Obama's divested of Wright, part of which encompassed how they didn't stick up for him when this video was released knowing his heart and dedication to the black community. But again, this was only part of it, and not the whole situation, and like I said Wright isn't innocent. And when I say this, this has nothing to do with anything he preached, I'm talking about he's not innocent in the handling of his relationship with the Obama's.
Because they were smart enough to know I was joking.I think you might have the 3rd most daps in this thread.
And you're on the opposite side of most of the people in the thread.
Don't mind me. Just pointing it out for the next time someone compares thecoli to st0rmfr0nt or lipstick alley.
The fact Michelle Obama took the time to, ten years later, still paint Rev. Jeremiah Wright (and subsequently, liberation theology) as "inappropriate fits of rage and resentment for white America."
In the same America that literally elected a woman who told us she would enthusiastically attend a lynching if invited. The America that's gassing folks at border points. The America that's detaining immigrants while selling their children wholesale into adoption. The America that cheerfully and willingly elected virulently hostile racists, sexists, transphobes, homophobes, and ableists in its modern "post-racial" period.
But sure, Michelle. In her words, "Our country's distortions about race could be two-sided" and "the suspicion and stereotyping [runs] both ways."
Yall can keep her
I am not interested in your assessment of me. Your inability point out the “he’s not innocent “is just you talking for the sake of talking.Breh, just in the few interactions I've had with you, your emotions are slanting your perspective arriving you to the wrong conclusion. I took issue with really one thing you said, which was an incorrect character assessment of Wright, whose church was long known to be the bourgeois safe haven of Chicago's black elite, that was decidedly so by Wright himself, but I'mma let you cook.
Hope it's not too personal, but do you not want to be married? Seems like you have a lot of love to give.No I’m not sadly. I’m not married at all.. I have two sons that are black men. When my oldest would be getting ready to go to school, I would be like a drill sergeant on his ass. It’s like, let’s go, let’s go, let’s go getting him up and about to make sure he gets to school on time. I know he hated it. But, he graduated high school, he has no record, and now he’s a marine. One thing that I made sure I always told him before he left out that door in the morning was that I love him and to have a great day. I knew all that he had to contend with out in the world. I’m going to leave you with something that I always think about and hopefully those of you that are reading this can relate: For men it’s hard. Especially during the teenage years. Not yet respected as a man, no longer adored as a boy. Mercy is only given to women and children and so I always want my children to know that they have value, especially as black men. You have to really, really instill that in them from young. I wrote that post earlier because I wanted to say something positive in the sea of negative shyt that you guys have to deal with. I listened and empathized with every single post that you guys wrote in this thread. I just wanted you to know that we you see black man. We feel you. Disclaimer: I’m only talking about the actual true proud black women out there, and not those pieces of shyt that seek to destroy your image and your value as a human being, much less a man. Another disclaimer: I’m not talking about the degenerate available race that seek to go out and kill, Rob, and treat their fellow black man the same or worse than any white man could… Let me get my high ass off of here.
Social media is full of baseless commenters who in their inability to back their points pivot to ad hominem responses.
Reverend Wright was a working class pastor.
Your inability point out the “he’s not innocent “is just you talking for the sake of talking.
