No offense to Puerto RIcans or Dominicans. And not trying to come off as racist, but I find it that islander Hispanics look to their so called "Taino" ancestry as superior, while their African one as inferior.

I find it funny because the Taino people:

1. Did not progress passed the stone age technology.
2. Their culture was largely primitive and they were mostly nude.
3. They had no architecture.
4. They were immediately wiped out by European settlers directly or indirectly.

Meanwhile Africans back on the continent.

1. Actually not only progressed passed the stone age, but entered the iron age independently.
2. They actually have architecture.
3. Their culture was more organized and complex compared to Taino culture.
4. They were not wiped out by Europeans, but continued on.
5. Some areas actually had written languages.
6. Lets not forget that Islander Hispanics culture especially Dominicans and Cubans are largely African influenced.

Mind you Dominicans mostly descend from people from Angola, who had civilizations such as this:

You have to understand that for some Carribean Latinos (ex. Cubans and Dominicans) they wasn't even allowed to claim they black ancestry. Even the Big Papi types was forced to call themselves Indio. So they passed that on to their children and so on and so forth.
