To some degree I don't entirely knock her point, although she worded it poorly. For example, if a white woman was cast as Storm in the X-Men flicks, more than a few Coli militants woulda caught feelings. There are Black superheros(Spawn, Panther, Green Lantern is open to whomever dons the ring), and villains(Black Manta whom I'd love to see a film on where he is the central character) to get a flick or two out of. That said, there is room for us to get in where we fit in, however, after that Hollywood email leak this past year, I'm fairly certain Black actors can only take what crumbs are given them.

With James Bond being English, I'm fairly certain most white (American)moviegoers wouldn't have a problem with Idris playing that role. There will be resistance, as Rush Limbaugh's comments indicated, but people will get over it. Admittedly, I am leary of traditionally white or otherwise characters, and gender specific characters(Thor) receiving what seems like a fairly corny reason to reboot, that being diversity. I'm all for diversity, but revamping traditional characters that we grew up on is a poor way to do it. As a Transformers fan, those Bay flicks were heresy to me, but I would have fukked around an protested had they did something like make Megatron a frog or something just to appease or sell tickets to the National Conservation of Amphibious Life Association.

On another note though, with her having a Dominican background, wouldn't surprise me if there was more malice towards Blacks in her heart than what was expressed through her words. You'd see her snuggled up with a white lesbian before any Brother. Oh wait!:ohhh:
