Basically they made too many, but they still earned about 5billion THIS QUARTER from windows

And thats not including the 1.5 billion per quarter they make for free from Andriod sales

And while I'm bullshytting, the total amount they made?

Microsoft's Q4 2013 earnings report is in, and the company is announcing revenue of $19.90 billion

Microsoft is still in much better shape than sony is. Their electronics division is worthless even with all of the systems they've sold, they turned a profit only because of real estate sales. Microsoft ate that loss from the surface tabs but still earnmore than they did last year. The entertainment division grew by 8% which is good but xbox live revenue grew by 20% which is ridiculous given that it's an 8yr old platform. You gotta tell the whole story breh if you're trying to spin something.

I can never understand why people cheer for the failure of innovation companies. These are the guys behind Windows (an OS you're most likely using right now) and the xbox. Imagine a world without those two things.

Hypothetically if Microsoft were to ever pull out of the software war we're be stuck with Mac OS and have no choice. If the xbox console was discontinued we're be stuck with the Playstation (and maybe Nintendo's console if you're 10 years old) and have no choice. I believe it's in everyone's best interest that Microsoft stays in the race since competition drives innovation. Even if you don't like their products (I don't).

Ummm.....You do realize that Windows RT is the OS on the Nokia 925? Windows RT is the OS for Windows 8 Smartphones & tablets (unless it's a x86-based Tablet).

I think youve misread a bit...the 5 billion is profit from MS total..19 is just revenue.

Youre right...MS has WAYY more money than Sony. Sony is failing as a hardware business..which was their bread and butter in the past. The gaming and entertainment divisions are turning over a profit...but no to computers and tvs...would almost feel sorry for them if I didnt see that they priced themselves into oblivion. Shouldve been more humble and realized that their laptops would not command the price that Apple's laptops do...

Umm you do realize that you have no clue what you are talking about and I know for 100% fact that you haven't used both of them.

They both have the same design language, but the OS is different..you might as well say the nokia runs windows 8 desktop os, the xbox os since they all have metro too
