we all know what will happen. The ISPs also provide cable services which is n excellent source of revenue for them. There is no way they will lose all that money by providing higher caps. There's a reason why those caps are set up in the first place.

The only thing that can happen is the money being passed on to the consumers so they end up paying more. Consumers will never win these battles, no matter how bad we want them to win.

there can be, and is, competition between ISP's. if caps get too tight, it just opens the door for someone to crush buildings with an 'unlimited', or at least less strict (a download limit high enough that the average person wouldn't exceed it), plan. cable companies are an industry that needs to evolve, or go the way of the dinosaur. they're already facing the threat of serious competition, with companies like Intel looking into providing 'a la carte' service

I understand the cynicism, but personally my glass is half full. the future will be crazy, and many industries will be shook up. just wait until 3D printers go mainstream...

Not that easy bruh. Cable and Phone companies who are ISPs have monopolies on territories and they will fight tooth and nail to keep others out.

When I was in Chattanooga, Comcast and ATT were fighting tooth and nail to keep the Electric Company from running fiber lines all over the city for their new cable/isp/phone services. They fought them tooth and nail bruh. They had injunctions to stop the installation of the lines and shyt. It took damn near 4 years for a judge to end the injunction and allow them to continue and finish.

The crazy thing is that Comcast and AT&T knew damn well they couldn't stop them. But they'll file for injunctions just to slow them down and get them caught up in red tape.

Grimey world out there :whew:

I didn't say there wouldn't be a fight, or that it would be "easy"

Clear Internet service already offers unlimited 4g service all across the country. Cellular providers are starting to push these types of services as well.

That's still dependent on their signal. Clear doesn't have 4G everywhere.

Point is more and more options for Internet service are popping up everyday. If trends continue Internet availability will be just as common as electricity in America. There are even talks of goverment subsidies to help expand online availability.

I know, it definitely needs to pickup though.
