What i said is that Microsoft is much larger therefore the way they report stuff is very different.

They are investing so much on bullshyt to make people use their gaming services on windows and might as well set that money on fire.
Power users (gaming wise) are switching to Linux and the advancements are so fast that I won't be shocked to see middle users start switching too.

"AI" doesn't even represent some breakthrough. it's just "look at what we can do with a computer the size of a warehouse". Large Language Models aren't really "intelligent" either

You say one has a way higher market cap than the other. Might be true but YTD buying Sony has been smarter than buying Microsoft. Sony has returned over 30% and Microsoft around 16%. Go back a full calendar year and Sony has returned 31% and Microsoft about 10%.Not sure what that has to do with the convo, but zoom out a bit
Microsoft has been floundering for their next move and it's showing in their returns. This desperate push into AI is a hail mary.
Microsoft been overrated for a long time.
They completely missed the boat on smartphone booming, that alone cost them enormous amount of money.
Now they are forcing their users to switch to shytty ass windows 11, by ending windows 10 support. Microsoft were known as not so user friendly and they keep getting worse.
People now have more alternatives than ever before

it just started using the GPT 5 model and it’s horrible. I need a summary of a 200 page document using a standard layout and it can’t get it right.
Nothing i said had anything to do with which company would have a better return.
But again, as i said zoom out.
Sony only has a higher return over the last 12 months because they had dropped so far. It’s a more volatile stock go back 8 or 13 months and the numbers would be very different.
If you zoom out to 3-5 years Microsoft more stable and consistent and has provided a much larger return.
