fukking hell. Tango released the highest reviewed Xbox Game in a whole generation, and they get shuttered. I thought xbox was supposed to deliver foundation for artist freedom.

Sucks for the folks being laid off.
Writing was on the wall for Arkane. I’m not sure they could restore their rep to get funding for another AAA.
Tango went with a passion project that delivered to critics. Not sure there, but it’s likely they’re going to focus on a slew of AAA games.
Whether that’s for one last hurrah at pushing Xbox hardware or trimming the fat as strictly a publisher is tbd.

Oh I thought they were. Well actually it wouldn't matter anyway as the IP is now owned by MSFT.

Sony Stans really in here like roaches when PlayStation has closed more studios in the last 4 years than anyone else.

Tbh I'm shocked it took this long to start closing studios and consolidating internally, and I suspect this is just the beginning.
