Also I just noticed that Sony is the only console maker that actually slashed prices for Black Friday. Of course Nintendo isn't doing it but M$ not attempting it means that they might not have the actual stock to do so like the article said. They just keep shooting themselves in the foot lol

This is true but we are amazed at the AUDACITY of them to even do this... :mjlol: :russ::bryan:
They aren't taking losses on what they sell anymore. The days of console makers subsidizing the hardware seem to be coming to an end.

They are just going into profit mode, they are gonna take a bath on the manufacturing..

It probably doesn’t make much of a difference at this point whether they sell another 300k units or 3 million over the next two years
Agreed, the volume of sales doesn't matter.

My issue is that if stores don't want to stock it (Costco?), and no one is buying direct from M$ website, the units just sit there. I'd rather sell at a loss than not sell at all.

The cost to produce is already on the accounting ledger. Seems like selling at $X price is better than having a $0. Never understood why companies would rather sit on stock versus selling it. Sitting on it does not remove the already incurred production costs.

I kind of see their vision. No one is buying it anyway so let’s up the price and cash in on whatever brand loyal pay pigs we have left. The problem is that all the brand slaves have already bought the Xbox.:skip:

It’s funny because i remember when stuff like Dreamcast and the GameCube stopped selling they were discounted to sub $99 dolalrs on shelves. I think thats when i bought my GC lol
