Why are y'all shocked that Microsoft is releasing a new OS

Windows 95 - 1995
Windows 98 - 1998
Windows 2000 - 2000
Windows XP - 2001
Windows Vista - 2006
Windows 7 - 2009
Windows 8 2012

For the most part, they release a new version every 3 years or so.

I stuck with XP as long as I could and I plan on doing the same with 7 ..........or at least until I decide whether or not I want to build a hackintosh

ME and 2000 came out the same year so i ain't list it. That was back when Windows had consumer and business releases. Win 9x/ME was consumer and NT (NT/2k/etc) was business.

This thread got me laughin. Although I'm not gonna lie, this announcement had me like since I'm lookin at new laptops.

But then again my desktop that I'm using right now has Vista and I really don't have many issues with it, if any at all. All my old software works, including my beat making stuff. I got Windows 7 on my work laptop and desktop as well as on my old personal laptop. I honestly didn't see much a difference on the surface.

Half the time when I'm on the computer I'm only using Office and web browsers anyway.

Windows 7 was like a breath of fresh air coming from Windows Vista.

Had limited experience with Windows 8/8.1 for the first time last week and I don't see what the problem is. I was still able to have the desktop experience while completely ignoring the metro stuff if I wanted. I welcome the metro shyt tho. Feels like 2 OS's in one. This is coming from someone still on XP/Vista tho.

Am I missing something?

Nobody is resistant to change when said change is for the better, windows 8 was ok but 7 beats it all day everyday, its a touchscreen o/s.

You are forgetting the reason why people still favor xp and 7 and its because of stability and usefulness.

What does this mean breh? I asked the dude at BB and he said its just an announcement in 2015 and that you can always upgrade the OS.

Vista gets a lot of hate but it was a solid OS minus some internal issues(if you had a new pc anyway...vista was shytttt on old computers)...all Windows 7 is...is a 'fixed' version of vista

Like others have said I don't think I'm messing with Windows 9...sticking with 7....

How about fixing the internet connectivity and download issues on Windows 8 before working on a new OS.

see if you can get a ivy bridge or sandy bridge laptop, the new haswell's are a little shaky. Hp and lenovo are the preferable brands.
