Its been buggy since day one, tons of compatibility issues and not a smooth upgrades. Add the fact that metro is pretty useless
I've not had more or less bugs with win8 than i did with win7. of course going from win7 ----> win8 -----> win 8.1 would present compability issues but nothing to be discontent about. I really think MS fukked up by not allowing ppl to customize Metro the way they want though.

Me and my brothers all bought brand new laptops at the same time (a month ago). All different brands and we're all having the same issues. Internet connectivity when streaming or downloading anything is very intermittent and we're all using 8.1. We've tried them on other broadband connections and it's the same problem. I googled the issue and apparently it's a common problem for users of Win8.

Take the computers back then. I literally have over 6 Windows 8.1 machines in my home and NONE of them have any of the issues your refferring to. Windows 8 is easily one of the best OS ever released as it seems there are literally thousands of drivers included with this OS, creating an unprecedented level of compatibility with various cards and USB devices. I can literally plug any usb device into my laptop or Surface tab and it will work automatically, without the need for install discs.

why would you want windows 7 on new computers when windows 8 is better for new machines? I just dont get ppl's infatuation with old shyt :heh: Its like when windows 7 came out you had a bunch of ppl dead set on keeping XP on their computers :russ:

Folk are just afraid of the unknown is all. I'm sure there are some morons wishing MS came out with new computers with Windows XP! :heh:

IMO just applying metro wasn't enough of justification for this release, I have had only a few bugs but I run a light system anyways, they should have had a complete "off" for metro

Definitely in that no reason to upgrade club. I only run Windows on my desktop and it works perfectly. Upgraded to 8 when it was brand new and I had a few driver compatibility issues. Downgraded and never got the urge to go back.

May make it a weekend project just to see if 8.1 is worth it. I get the keys for free anyway so I don't have a real excuse...

if you got an old machine keep win7, if you got a relatively new machine switch up to win8.

see if you can get a ivy bridge or sandy bridge laptop, the new haswell's are a little shaky. Hp and lenovo are the preferable brands.

:whoa:

I googled that stuff and it seems way too complicated. Plus part of the appeal of Mac's are the aesthetics
