Discs in 2018 are all the negatives, with the only benefit being used game sales.

90% of my games are digital. I haven't bought a disc in years. It's just more convenient not having to swap discs.

Hard drive only setup is so clean and convenient. When folks are over and you gotta list of games up there like Netflix... they be like

I do the same with my movies... and the Switch.... Movies and games for days on deck....

I'm trying to understand why you believe digital is short term...but physical discs the may lock you into a generation of console that may go obselete has a long term benefit.

Seriously, can you explain or point me to where you've stated your reasons previously in this thread?

Because companies have shown a tendency to shutter things that are no longer profitable to them placing the burden on the end user to maintain a physical item with their digital game on it long term defeating the battle cry of the all digital crowd that it's more convenient.

I still have physical games I bought over 20 years ago. They still work. Do you honestly think in 20 years you'll still be able to connect a PS3 online and re-download games?

In the short term you can do that but how long out will Sony maintain access to that stuff when it no longer makes them any money?

Next gen will be disc-less confirmed.

Sony has already went on record and said PS5 will be disc based. Gamers need to stop expecting the market leader to follow, copy, and do the same things the 3rd place looser does. Makes no sense
