So on topic.

What do y'all think is the logical next step for the story?

Do the locusts come back?

Do we get a new threat?

Full reboot/Re-imagining?

Prequel?

I'd hope for a new threat decades, even centuries after the end of gow3. That would give them some room to make the franchise new again while keeping everything the fans like about the series.

Don't think there is a "logical" step since the story is done. They were too anxious to leave it a trilogy. They won't go back and do Pendulum Wars after the COG vs COG backlash from judgement. Going back to the events surrounding E-Day would be decent (and safe) but its yet another prequel we know the outcome of. They COULD follow the UIR during the post E-day events, but it will probably look like a reskinned Gears 1-3. And there are no Locust past Gears 3.

Maybe some cataclysmic event happens in the future that was the result of events in Gears 1-3, forcing our protagonists to go back in time and alter the future :lupe:

Gears of Future Past :ohhh:
:heh:
