For anyone still actually on the fence about this, you have to ask yourself: Does the news coming out about MS from the hardware, to the DRM issues they have pretty much refused to clarify to them cancelling the E3 Q&A inspire confidence in your purchase of an XBOX One? Seriously?

If you answer yes, you're being absolutely ridiculous and I'd have to question your ability to make most other life decisions. This is coming from someone who never purchased a PS3 and only had a 360 this gen.

None of it is "news" and none of it is coming from Microsoft.

As far as official information is concerned, Sony has yet to answer the same questions. And there is actual news of Sony having production problems.

Does that inspire confidence in you about the ps4

How have these so called production problems hindered the specs of the console?

Neither company has given out full specs. And the specs Sony had at their reveal are "subject to change" so we really don't know the answer to this question.

When we start seeing actual games running on either system then we can start to make sense of all of this:manny:

Where there's smoke, there's fire. And there's a lot more smoke coming out of Redmond this time out. As a consumer, I'm going to avoid the fire.

how does this underclocking news suggest that?

It's a combination of info that's been coming out that suggests that MS really would have preferred releasing the One in 2014 rather than 2013.

The news about them just heading out to the TV companies to show the console off was another indication to me that they're behind. There was also a report of the games being developed for the One being behind.

Now this comes out. Overheating should be the main priority for MS after the RROD debacle. Why wouldn't the design a console with this in mind? Instead they're going to just underclock it hoping that remedies the problem.

Again all of the same rumors have come out about the ps4. If you are worried about smoke you should be worried about the ps4 as well.

At a very basic level, only Sony has shown an actual game running on their system. Microsoft couldn't even give us that much.

No, not really. Not to mention the confirmed hardware differences between the two that only one camp seems to continually downplay.

Nah...

", but if that difference becomes too large we’ll definitely see specific implementations for each platform.”

Clock speeds might not be a good measure in their opinion....BUT

- double the gpu clock speeds of the XBox Done with the PS4 (check)
- more memory on the ps4 (check
- faster memory on the ps4 at 3x the speed of the XBox Done (check)
- unified memory, not that esram/ddr3 split shyt that is causing issues (check)

No they have not. Those games were running on a PC.

What we have seen "at a basic level" is the Xbox ONE system on an running the os and kinect features.
