i wouldnt let sony build up any more of a lead. i would drop that price ASAP. the more sony customers sign up for PS+, the more stuck in sony's ecosystem they will be. MS has to put a stop to this

Sony is going to finish this generation ahead of Microsoft. That was settled at E3 2013. I'd be more worried about getting the Xbox One to profitability over some money losing price war with Sony just so internet spectators can say Microsoft is winning. This shouldn't be about a cock measuring contest with Sony is should be about making money.

People talk shyt about Microsoft but the truth is their exclusive franchises sell way more games than Sony's. add up Halo and Gears sales and those two alone are outselling Sony's whole war chest combined. When either of those two games are ready and they're ready for their first system revision they should drop the Kinect on a new SKU at $100 less that the current one then keep the current one as well at the same price.

Incorrect. Gears franchise sold 19 million. Ratchet and Clank and God of War each sold more units than that. Gran Turismo series sold more than Halo.

you need install base to make money. the biggest reason 360 was able to come up was because of sony's self inflicted price related wounds. this generation looks like a complete reversal.

If you only count the 360 releases, Halo franchise sold 41 million roughly. In that regards Halo is the best selling franchise Microsoft got. The other franchises are basically the same. Gears and the other b and c tier releases.(Forza, Fable, crackdown etc.)

Gears sold 19 million
Uncharted was said to be 17 million sales deep.

Sony has a bunch of ip's that sell 1-5 million.

I think this gen it will be different. Last gen Microsoft had the advantage of having a huge install base while sony was out there figuring out itself with its expensive console with a network that had a stigma of being inferior. Plus Sony just had terrible advertising last gen while Xbox had superior marketing. Sony started to catch up I'd say around 2009.

I'm pretty sure Halo 4 comes close to matching the Uncharted sales if you combine 1, 2, and 3. Gears typically outsells Uncharted games also.

Halo isn't just a regular franchise, neither is GT.

People always wanna compare Halo to games but don't wanna compare GT to random games too.

Uncharted is still a fairly new franchise and sells comparable units to gears, another fairly new franchise. Gears may sell a few more units but that's what happens when the user base is twice as big in the territory that shooters are most popular.

The Last of Us thus far sold 3.4 million in three weeks. Gears of War 1 sold over 3 million in 10 weeks. In a year it sold close to 6 million. I'd say by now TLOU has probably sold that amount.

Hell Littlebigplanet 1 as of 2010 sold 4.5 million. LBP series sold 8.5 million thus far counting three games only(LBP1 LBP PSP and LBP 2.)

I say this to say people are overlooking the sales of individual games on Sony's platform. They may not sell 4-5 million in a few weeks but they have long legs. That's not bad at all imo.
