Well the topic of this thread is the business side of things and the viability of the Xbox platform. So yes those numbers are valid and important in the context of this thread.

I did. Did you miss the part where I bolded that in addition to selling 2x as many consoles, Tomb Raider on PS4 sold 2x as many as on XBOX One? Would you like me to show you again? I bet you wouldn't.

No but you missed the part where someone saying 2:1 on twitter means absolutely nothing without real numbers to back it up

i went to walmart earlier and decided to look in the area where they keep the consoles and games. there were at least 10 xbox ones still there and it was a huge sign saying they had them "now in stock" there wasn't a single ps3 or 4 sitting on the shelf. bunch of 360's there too.

that's the equivalent of $580 for a PS4 there going down to $550. seeing how it's $400 here that's way overpriced.

that being said i don't know UK precedent but in the US when a console launches they don't 3 months later randomly start giving away stuff with it like games and gift cards.that's the kinda stuff they do with mid lifespan consoles only during the holidays.

this is very good for people who have ps4s and want to get xbox ones too like me... i realize ps4 might be the better system and the controller is literally so much better than xboxes... but halo is where its at... and ill defnitely be picking up an xbox.. playing cod and bf4 just made me realize that shyt so much... miss driving around a ghost and splashin nikkas

when i bought my Xbox One it was $499. they gave me a free shirt. i got mine on launch day also. there was no free $50 gift card then. it wasn't until the supply caught up to and surpassed the demand that they started offering all these free gift cards. hell Microcenter flat out had a $50 off coupon on Xbox One.

its pretty clear to everyone that this console is overpriced. retailers are simply trying to compensate for it.

I don't disagree that it's overpriced for people's expectations, and that's why there have been plenty of promotions since release. Amazon was giving out gift cards, best buy had some deals. And Walmart has been giving out that coupon for a while now. I just disagree with the whole "selling poorly" and "desperate" angle. They shipped a lot of consoles, probably more than they planed since they didnt ship in so many countries
