People need to stop running around with this trope. In your 30s you're just now getting into the groove of things and making real moves whether it's a big paying career, starting a family, or buying a new house. I wouldn't even call somebody that's 45 old head. Old head officially starts at 50.

If you work in a corporate setting you're on the younger end of the spectrum there.

Seeing and talking to old folks while on vacation changed my mindset on this. You 35-40 sitting at home eating ribs getting fat while some 60 year olds are on the coast riding in speedboats and hang gliding and shyt. People need to get off the asses and do more out here.

10 year olds don't have full comprehension though. Same thing goes for some 18 year old calling 35 old.

In your case, the 80 year old is right, 40 is still relatively young.

50 is universally 'old'.
