I was expecting more onscreen fabulous fukkery? But we'll made flick as expected! Disturbing!
Ending wasn't great. It was ok!

Why didn't they talk about Dani's sister? Or waa she an ex invitee?

I feel like horror movies these days have no concept of a healthy middle ground. It's either over the top jump scares and too fast paced or its tooooo slow and nothing happens like Midsommar. And I appreciate a slow burn but man..

I think movies like this get fukked with how much they have to cut and edit. It's too many ideas for it to be so mainstream, the directors cut will probably be more satisfying, but it'll have to be more graphic which is what I hope will happen.

I assume because her sister killed herself and her parents she probably ended up going to hell with whatever god they worship that requires sacrifices
You also gotta assume what the mom's role in this was too cause she saw her mom's ghost at some point but her dad is the only one she doesn't see doing something

Did her sister off herself in the past or present? Because she was messaging her bipolar sis online??
I was bit confused?

Also the annoying waling/cry from Dani was fukking irritating like with dude from hereditary!

Well present because the movie started in the winter, couple minutes after her posts
Yeah but cause she's a woman I find it more believable but that dude was acting like a bytch lol

I wouldn’t call it a comedy. There were some funny scenes but nothing too outstanding to call it a comedy; movie was okay, though. Had the runtime not been so long, would’ve been better but movie was too slow with it being close to 3 hours.

Now I will watch the extended version once released but it will be on Firestick. I will not buy.

I loved it, and I spit on all the complaints about the length and pacing. The screen actually froze somewhere 20 minutes before the end and the lights came on and it was like something perforated the room and all of the built-up suspense exploded out of it, the entire audience was livid as fukk! Some people were even saying that they might as well go home now that the theater fukked it up. I can't remember any other horror movie in recent years capable of achieving such strong atmosphere in the theater.

One thing though, Aster does have a tendency to throw too much exposition in his finale, almost like he wants to up the ante but doesn't quite get how to do it so instead he just shows things longer and more explicitly.

I still feel the movie is absolutely brilliant regardless, Aster's eye for photography is breathtaking, like Hereditary before it I can't think of many better looking horror movies.
