Pro tip: walk around with your coat open for 5 minutes to get acclimated to the cold.

You dress in layers when it gets below freezing.

Base layer of merino wool.
Mid layer pullover.
Outer layer parka or coat.

Take off a layer if it gets warm.

Merino wool is better than cotton. Its lighter and more breathable.

Like everyone else said, layer up. Make sure you have a really good beanie because that shyt is clutch. The snow is what gets to you. It was cool when i was young because I wasn't going to school. I live in SC now, but my people from back home complain about having to shovel that shyt in order to get to work now. Also, make sure your tires are built for winter weather and buy some sandbags.

South Side Chicago to Nola
Get your self some thermal socks and thermal underwear too. That shyt is worth it's weight in gold when you are waiting outside in the wind on buses and trains.

After a lifetime of living in Chicago; I had to finally give that shytty weather up a couple of years ago, because I just couldn't take it anymore. fukk that.

My nikka i came back to the chi after being down south since 18, 3 years ago, i was so glad when i moved back down south

Like the op say, layer, and get you a few pairs of timb’s socks, they so thick and warm, get you a bubble coat, and a pea coat, a good lined pair of gloves, fleece sweats, a good hat or two, and some good thick scarfs

Naw breh you're dumb AF to think the only reason people stay in cold weather when they don't like is because they're poor. Like family and career has nothing to do with life. You're a small minded POS
