So far Culture has been fantastic for me, it shows real maturity in their sound and shows they're able to make a focused, condensed project with real intent. I think they did a semi-effective job of conveying the culture of Atlanta through the lens' of the Migos and the trap scene, and retaining the typical confidence and self -indulgence we get on a Migos project. Nothing revolutionary, but it's definitely something that is great to see after their sort of lull with Yung Rich Nation etc. Culture along with the likes of Rodeo, DS2 and Jeffery really show the emergence of promising times for commercial albums in trap music.
The album itself has incredibly experimental production for the Migos - dabbling in more modern, spacy instrumentals that compliment their eccentric vocal personalities and giving room for their blitzkrieg of adlibs. I really like this change, it's refreshing to see after years of Zaytoven's trap orchestra (although there are exceptions to this on Culture, a few have this sound but it isn't in access and adds well into the Atlanta culture theme they have going)
The performances by Quavo, Takeoff and Offset mix together and act as a cohesive and relentless force throughout their songs, verse duties and hook duties allocated equitably. This is the first Migos project where I can say this is true, the allocation of duties was a major problem for me on Yung Rich Nation as Quavo dominated and Offset was nearly out of the picture, Takeoff used for verses almost exclusively. But they really took note of this inequality and fixed it for this project which I appreciate a lot.
Some gripes I do have is at some points it does get a little underwhelming and too much singing is used, and sometimes they sound a lot like Travis Scott, hell even their cover looks like PUTPs art. However the quality is good and I like Migos so I can brush those off to the side

. Also it takes time to grow on me like everything else so we'll see if those criticisms hold up for me.
