Wrote all that but didn't have any concrete denials:unimpressed:

He checked all the boxes using someone's death, being a black man in the industry, and a bunch of emotional pleas. If they're doing honest business why are they making artists sign 360 deals?

How is QC making artists sign 360's?

you don’t think they had a relationship and comfort with this guy before he even officially became their lawyer

this is the most normal thing in the world. Not saying it was prudent

it’s always easy to assess someone else’s situation

Nah, most likely not. If you feel comfortable around your lawyer, then you should have no problem discussing their relationships to your label, your publisher, etc to avoid a conflict of interest.

think of a lawyer the same way you do a therapist. in your eyes, the most important thing should be is how they can help you.

if you somehow are friendly with your lawyer, developed a relationship, etc and you're not 100% positive that they're in your corner, and your corner only, then you're getting played.

A lawyer works for you, not the other way around. fukk comfort or a relationship. You get paid off my success. Work for my best interest and yours.

And no, it's not the most normal thing in the world. Most musicians are smart enough to at least have a lawyer that is independent of any label. I'll give a lot of things flak, but fukking with a lawyer that is on call with your label is stupid shyt 101

This will not end well, but I hope I’m wrong.

There are too many horror stories for this to continue happening.

I’m considering starting a consulting service because these artists really need better guidance.
They're not going to listen to you. Fact of the matter is these are 16-21 year old, drugged up, high school dropouts signing these deals. No matter how hard you try they not caring about what "conflict of interest" even means. We need to stop shytting on the victims for being victims and start looking at the perpetrators for being predators. Those victims will always be there. If they turned down the deal then there'd be 10 more groups eager to sign even worse deals.

Case in point Taylor Swift's pops had enough money to buy some ownership in Big Machine when she signed her first deal. Fast forward a decade later and 100s of millions of records sold and she still doesn't even have her masters and claims they owe her unpaid royalties. If someone with that kind of privilege can get got then Migos never stood a chance.

They watched Lil Baby lap them when he was just a local act, he probably got a better deal.
All that extravagant jewelry tells says they don’t really got money like that so they go overboard with depreciating items, its like old cash money artists

For sure, I'm not really blaming migos. Mainly QC and them for taking advantage.

I'm never really upset at young nikkas signing deals if it puts them in a better place and position. I will be vocal about them moving better in hopes of encouragement but like I said earlier, blame really falls at the foot of black people taking advantage of the same young black people that really put their label on.
