It just looks like a temper tantrum. And when you are in a position of authority the best thing for you to do is let the "child" have the tantrum.
It may be loud, annoying, maybe even violent/destructive but at the end of it, whoever it was throwing the tantrum has expended a hell of a lot of energy to express their feeling of contempt in that moment. The release of the anger is almost like a pacifier that keeps the reactions of the injured party contained within short, irrational spurts of emotional release.
This is predictable and the preferred response.
