I've read speculation that she doesn't even want a replacement unless it one of the few on her a short list , which includes Anderson .

Maybe about 5-7 years ago ESPN tried to give greeny a sports show in addition to Mike&Mike but it failed horribly but you could see far back like 10 years ago that greeny wanted to do more than just this show.

So many people are dropping cable and its killing the network. Golic on the other hand started out as an analyst there and has no desire to leave until he retires and moves to arizona. Notice how he ALWAYS mentions his playing days in philly because to a lot of people they dont even remember him playing. I remember him back then and he was also best friends with Jerome Brown(dude was a BEAST).

Surprisingly Golic JR is actually pretty good, better than his dad so I could see a potentially "father & son" Mike&Mike show. I didnt like greeny when he covered the bulls in the 90s, he loves fake outrage and is a corny, tatlentless dude.

I don't think it's that people care about their "opinions". Me personally, I don't listen to sports radio for their opinions. I listen because I like talking about what's going on in the sports world, and when driving around, I like listening to people talk about what's going on in the sports world. I probably won't change my opinion on anything based on what they say - just enjoy the discussion

Yeah golic Jr gets bad rep because of his pops but he's actually pretty good to me and one of the few that actually spoke up for nikkas that we're getting raked like Kaep

But I dunno if that would work ... he's vanilla enough to not be offensive but can't generate enough edge to counter Kelly's daytime cheekiness .

I think she wants Anderson Cooper anyway . But it'd be a huge step down for Anderson .

That's the entire MLB network. All they talk about are analytics. The problem with ESPN is that all of the major sports have their own networks, thus the unique thing ESPN has are 'personalities' and live sports

And like I said, people who want specialized content know where to get it. You can't put analytical baseball talk front and center on your premiere ESPN show and expect numbers. Baseball is a regional sport. If you aren't a fanatic you only care about your team. If I wake up and hear someone talking about the relief pitching of the San Diego Padres for more than 20 seconds I'm turning the station.

I have Sirius XM and the only time you will hear serious baseball talk is on the MLB station and Mad Dog Chris Russo spends and hour talking about it and he always prefaces that time period by saying he knows his ratings are about to drop.

Mike and Mike is money with the age 40-plus crowd. I have several older relatives and friends who listen to them like I do Le Batard and Stugotz.

It's a decent enough show, but I wouldn't miss it much. Someone else mentioned Golic's son -- yeah he's pretty good.

Mike and Mike isn't must watch tv but it is solid enough to wake up and get ready for work while listening .I don't need wild hot takes at 7:00 am.
