Shyt's light ... Big Mike is a joke . Lil Mike is extra vanilla, but usually reasonable ... shyt is the Good Morning America of ESPN. .. Won't deny the reach of the show for ESPN radio tho. Curious move all the way around . Mike & Mike really was their flagship show .
You have to understand that as a general rule, TV networks want their programming in the mornings and late at night to be light and vanilla

They understand that consumers don't want to be slapped in the face with serious content right after they just woke up nor do they want to be slapped in the face with edgy content right before they go to sleep

That's why ESPN ends their day with SVP instead of Stephen A Smith screaming into the cameras

That's why network TV stations air game shows and cooking shows early in the morning and reruns of old sitcoms and late night talk shows late at night

If ESPN was smart, they'd replace Mike and Mike with a show that talks X's and O's breakdowns and analytics type stuff for basketball and baseball.

A lot of deplorables would be mad at first, but this is the one area that hasn't been brought to TV consistently. Every show tries to dumb things down to pander to casuals and idiots. Bring in some smart guys and let them show how much they really know. There is already interest in this even for football.

To air games you numbskull, ESPN airs a ton of college football and basketball games b/w the two networks. Lol @ "cancel this, cancel that", just change the channel or go outside and breathe some fresh air.
You don't seem to understand that they have to cut costs, 'm not talking for a watcher, I"m talking from the business side

You realize that ESPN has contracts with these leagues right? They have obligations to air games, thats where ESPN2 (partially) serves its purpose.
Run the networks as ESPN simulcast and only change with the games, shyt isn't complicated

I think Greeny probably pushed for a change behind the scenes. With everyone else from ESPN 2 moved over to the mothership, he probably asked to get his own Sportscenter like Mike/Jemele & Van P. They will probably give him the morning Sportscenter.
lol at ESPN being "cash strapped ":mjlol:

Bruh, analytical baseball talk would be the quickest way to tank ratings. The only thing that would do worse is analytical hockey. The reason mornings shows cater to casuals with generic content and safe comedy is because the overwhelming majority of the audience is comfortable with that. People who want specialized content know where they can go to find it.

ESPN Makes bank off all those channels. I heard they make 1/2 Billy off the SEC Network

Sports bubble is bursting because of over saturation.

Same thing will happen to news

That's a bad thing too, it's never been a better time for sports fans to watch every single event they have even a passing interest in. I'm not paying for 10 different streaming subscriptions or hooking my computer via hdmi. Nah
