Stop making it about race. The team has been trending downward for a while and if you could point to other reasons then that's one thing, but a lot of their issues can be attributed to bad coaching that has got them in this position

What else can it be about when you have a coach with a SB win and another appearance and an org that is notoriously loyal to coaches? The team is trending downward because it's foundation, defense, has gotten :flabbynsick:. Teams are gonna have down years, they certainly had them during Cowher's tenure. For Tomlin to be let go in light of all of that what else could it be? Honestly it shouldn't even be a discussion at this point.

No way they get rid of him.It took Cowher what 15 years to win a Super Bowl. Tomlin won 1 and been to another in just what 7 years? He should at least have another 2-3 years.Just get rid of a coordinator, some old players on D. Maybe draft a QB in later rounds. Fans and people are just impatient these days.

They're not going to get rid of him.. so honestly I don't think that's an actual discussion. But his coaching abilities are certainly up for debate, and if he was on any other franchise, his seat would be hot. As the old guys retire, there is no young blood stepping in to their place, especially on D. Only Jason Worilds and Cam Heyward have come on this year, but name another young up-and-comer on the Steelers D. Nowhere in sight. That used to be a staple of this franchise but for some reason under Tomlin, the more we rely on "his guys", the worse the team becomes..

So where does the GM fit into all of this? :patrice:

That's another debate. People aren't thrilled with him either, but he's the same guy who, along with Cowher, built the roster that won 2 Super Bowls. The coach changed, the drafting went to shyt. Not saying it's all on Tomlin, because we're not in those draft rooms to see who has what ideas, etc. but it's a curious coincidence that the rosters Cowher+Colbert built had Steeler legends and HOF'ers, and Tomlin's best contributions are Antonio Brown and Lamarr Woodley (whose contract is killing us and he isn't even producing for the past 3 years)

I hear you, and I'm not trying to excuse Tomlin, but I don't see how that's a separate debate. Seems it's very much so intertwined.

Lol even Steelers fans know the defense is old and slow.
The secondary maybe. But the front 7 is very young, especially when Keisel and Woodley are hurt which they usually are. We're starting guys like Cam Heyward, Steve McClendon, Ziggy Hood, Al Woods, Jarvis Jones, Jason Worilds, Vince Williams .. That's not old or slow.. just.. not developed and arguably untalented

But the secondary with Ike Taylor, Willie Gay, Troy Polamalu, and Ryan Clark? Old? Yes. Slow? Not really, but slowing down, yes...

Steelers should fire this man immediately. Perhaps another team could use his talents (or lack thereof) on their team. A fine team based in Houston comes to mind.....
leave a team you won a championship with and go to the worse team in the nfl brehs.

:rudy:

i swear yall cac wanna blame everything on a black man
the reason the team is trending downward is due to front office
NOT coaching

Let me guess cause he is black :comeon:. Cowher never went MORE then 3 years without a playoff VICTORY.The only coach who can go 10 years without winning a game in the playoffs is Marvin Lewis

how many playoffs
home games cowher lost
or being the favorites cowher lost ?
