Trout is like A-Rod when played for the Rangers after signing the $252 million contract.

Dude was putting up MVP numbers but it didn't mean shyt.

A-Rod AVERAGED: 52 HRs/132 RBIs and a .305 batting average with Texas. We were still pure garbage. Winning with the Yankees definitely added something to his legacy...a lot honestly.

Trout needs to go to a team that's built to win. Add a ring or two to his stats and he's getting 95% on that first HOF ballot.

it's really hard for one player to to make a huge difference on a baseball team when the rest of the team sucks. It's not like basketball where a top teir player can make his team a lot better, or football where a good qb can make up for a lot. Trout could come up with 2 outs, hit a triple, and the next dude hits a pop up and the inning is over.

baseball fans aren't brainwashed like you nba nikkas. David stern and his clever marketing has ya'll thinking a teams accomplishments is all due to one player...that winning solidifies a career.

it takes more than one guy in the MLB. For instance you can have great hitting like the marlins 5 years ago but if you dont have a pitching staff it doesnt matter.

Him and Palmeiro were combining for about 90 homers and 250 RBI’s a year and they were still coming in last place. Same shyt here. He should never have re-signed with the angels.

Yes he shouldn’t have resigned but stop it they are nowhere near as bad . They sign cole or shore up the bullpen , bring up a prospect and otani comes back healthy they can compete

So do you think Trout should be a potential GOAT. Better than Bonds or Griffey Jr?

Baseball is a very isolated sport in terms of individual achievements, so yeah. :manny:

Griffey put up big numbers in isolation too until the Ms got Edgar, Tino, Buhner, A-Rod, Randy Johnson, etc. Baseball is a sport where you can be undeniably great on a bad team, but not be able enough to affect the team as a whole.

Yeah we've been a few moves away for a minute, we just keep making the wrong moves! Farm system was trash for a while but they've been rebuilding it up. Signing Cole would be dope, but yeah we aren't too far away. Definitely not early 2000s Rangers status :russ:

Look up the top 25 OPS, and OPS+ seasons and it’s Ruth and Bonds over and over with Trout no where to be found:yeshrug:

He’s almost there in WAR (T- 31) but again there is 3 Bonds, 6 Ruth, and 5 Mays seasons ahead of the first Trout.

Maybe he gets to GOAT one day, but he’s not in front of those 2-3 as of right now:unimpressed:

people are underestimating a baseball players capacity to affect the outcome of games.
but... having a great bullpen does help out alot. If your team only gives up like 1 or 2 runs. Then a player like Trout can come in and win games for you pretty easily by driving in RBI's and hitting homers.

but if it's a constant arms race, and you gotta score like 10 runs every game to even have a chance, then it gets near impossible.
Ay, how you driving in RBI's when nobody on base?

turnarounds can happen fast. We went from 78 wins in 2013 to 98 wins (best in league) in 2014. Thats the lone season this decade were everything hit for us. But then we got swept by KC smh

If we make some good moves and keep building the farm its possible. We got Trout and Ohtani to build off of

Barry did win shyt tho, he won pennants. This ain't Basketball or Football. Pennants mean a fukking lot. :snoop:

Only 5 teams even make the playoffs in both leagues and back then, it was just 2 80s and 90s and 4 in the 2000s. Playoffs is a major accomplishment.
Pennants haven't meant anything since the
shyt is ridiculous because even in the Babe Ruth days you had to win to be put in that conversation. Ruth was basically the first sports superstar but him being a winner and hitting home runs like crazy made him that GOAT at that time.

Trout puts up numbers for a team that isn’t doing shyt and in a trash division that is basically another version of the NL West and AL East. WTF would he do in the AL East where you have to win all the fukking time early in the season or your season is over.
:stopitslime: We're gonna act like Ruth didn't play with some of the goats???

Breh Babe Ruth was the original GOAT and first superstar in sports. Of course we know who he played with but home runs have always been the CAC gold standard in baseball and for a long time Babe held that record down
