The Halos got enough good players, it just that they need to have more energy. It's like they just stoic. They don't really have fun. The most energy they had all year was due to the tragic death of Tyler Skaggs. I just want to see a more motivate group. Such a dead ass team while at the Chavez Ravine, it's swagged the fukk up. Bonds and Griffey's team in his prime was never dead. They wanted to win as bad for Griff or Bonds as they did for themselves. While the Angels just do their best. That's some weak shyt. In sports, you gotta play over your head and go above your level. If you can't do that or not doing it, some shyt wrong in my eyes. Baseball ain't that much different in honesty.
The Angels suck. That team has no arms and other than Adell, nothing in the pipeline. That’s on management more than anything. If anything, that team on paper shouldn’t sniff .500 the way they do.

And let’s be very very honest with ourselves. We gave Griffey a pass for failing with a HOF level team and Bonds for coming up like Harden in the playoffs til 02.

Baseball is at the same time the most individualistic sport and the most team dependent sport. As a hitter, you go up there by yourself and basically get all your numbers (save RBI and RS) on your own. However, you get just as many at bats as the 9th best hitter and the most important player, the pitcher, changes every game and multiple times in a game. Imagine if the 9th man got just as many shots as KD. Imagine if the Chiefs played a different QB every week and played 3 or 4 every game. Putting team success/failure all on one guy is bad enough in the other sports but at least you don't have all that going on. I think Trout has a ways to go to be GOAT, but the quality of the Angels isn't gonna be the determining factor.

This sort of post has been made several times and should’ve ended the thread. Unless trout is hitting bad in pressure situations or with runners on (which I doubt), then there’s nothing more he can do. The 3 years Alex Rodriguez spent in Texas should’ve ended this sort of argument for baseball for keeps with him and Rafael Palmeiro stuffing the stat sheet. Take a look at these 3 seasons:

2001: 162 games, 201 hits, 52 homers, 135 RBI’s, 34 doubles, 75 walks. A .318 average, a .399 OBP, & slugged .622 while Palmeiro hit 47 homers with 120+ RBI’s, a .273 average, & a .381 OBP. The rangers went 73-89 for 4th in the division while the pitching allowed 968 runs

2002: 162 games, 57 homers, 27 doubles, 142 RBI’s, 87 walks. A .300 batting average, .392 OBP, & slugged .623. Palmeiro had 43 homers, 34 doubles, and 105 RBI’s with a .273/.391/.571 line. The rangers went 72-90 for 4th place in the division while allowing 882 runs

2003: 161 games played, 47 homers, 30 doubles, 6 triples, 118 RBI’s, 17 stolen bases, and a .298/.396/600 line with Palmeiro posting 38 homers, 21 doubles, & 112 RBI’s on a .260/.359/.508 line. The rangers went 71-91, good for 4th place while allowing 969 runs.

That sort of offensive output from 2 guys and they didn’t even get close to the postseason. Putting wins or losses on one guy in a team sport is always a bad argument, but it’s almost certainly the worst in the case of baseball.

You can be the best player in baseball and not have the same impact on winning as starts in other sports do. It's common sense...............

NBA: Play both sides of the ball, and it's 5 v.s. 5 with a bench.
NFL: It's 11 v.s. 11 and both sides work as an entire unit.

Mike Trout can't control the Angels pitching rotation or the other batters on that team.

It's actually the opposite of common sense...

Because Mike Trout isn't just considered the "best player in baseball"...not true by the way...he is also already considered one of the "greatest baseball players of all time"...

And he is what...one playoff appearance...1 - 11....

So name all the nba players we consider who are all time greats but only made the playoffs one time and plaid like trash...

So name all the nfl players we consider all time greats who played in one or two playoff games and played like trash...

Just because Trout can't impact the game the same way a player does in another sport doesn't mean he can't impact a game...

I don't expect Trout to get the Angels to game 6 of the AL penant by himself...but the Angels are one of the worst teams in baseball every dam year...

If Mike Trout was really THAT GOOD...his team wouldn't always be THAT BAD...

The difference between the Rangers and Angels should be Mike Trout but the Rangers and Angels have the same record and the Rangers don't have Mike Trout...

I literally saw a team purposely walk Barry Bonds with the bases loaded because they would rather start the bottom of the 9th down 2 -1 than have bonds clobber the ball but we in here talking about how Trout can't impact winning cause he a baseball player...

The Rangers have a deeper lineup and better pitching than the Angels do, and for all of that their records are the same.

The frustrating thing is that we’ll never really know how Trout can affect a good team because he won’t be on one for a while.

The Angels - Trout = the Royals

A-Rod was on the same shyt when he was in Texas.

It's funny though cause the Angles ran the division for so long and they always had hittin and pitching. With a top 5 you'd they'd own the AL West. They had some teaaaams but so did the Rangers and now the Astros. That's how baseball go :manny:
Trout chose to stay with angels for money so he gets the Melo treatment to me if he doesn’t win.

He chose to stay with the Angels because he wanted to stay an Angel. That money woulda been there with other teams.

Eppler’s a Yankee disciple so the fact they’re not all in on building a staff of arms is crazy to me.

Thread full of idiots who never played baseball. "If he was that good, they'd be better". Nobody who ever played baseball says that.

you dont have to be a champ, but you do have to have a history of spectacular play in the big games

he hasn't had any big games to play in except those 3 playoff games a young player. He hasn't even been in any playoff races down the stretch. The one year he made the playoffs the Angels had the best record in the league.

He could've got the same kind've money somewhere. He stayed with Angels because they gave him 13 years. He took less per year in exchange for longevity. Other teams would've easily offered 45M+ a year for a 7 year deal.

What :mjlol:

This is why I don't really talk sports on this site anymore :mjlol:

A team with three of five starters having an ERA over 5 while also having a low average innning pitched per start numbers has "better pitching than the Angels"

Like...Bartolo Colon was in the opening day rotation for the Rangers:mjlol:

This site so full of shyt sometimes it's ridiculous. I don't know I've seen a more protected athlete in the history of my fandom than Mike Trout. shyt, nikkas even said Bonds and Griffey got a pass. nikka what! Bonds and Griffey used to get destroy back when when they didn't have success. shyt, the only time the media was off of them is when they balled the fukk out. I don't know what the fukk he talking about and tremont one of the best on the site.

I don't know why homie such a Trout stanley.
